What a day! Dramatic skies were our backdrop for the Coquille River Lighthouse on our evening shoot. We were greeted with beautiful light and big puffies followed by dark skies and finally the rain came. Hey, it’s Oregon. Ya gotta have some weather.

Despite the weather report calling for the prerequisite Oregon rain, we had a beautiful morning wandering around the Charleston Boat Basin. Details, graphics and reflections were everywhere we turned.

The Oregon Coast has many moods…from bright and sunny to dark and stormy. I find that I prefer the charachter of a moody day and we were not disappointed. Heading out to photograph the sunset, the weather was sunny and bright, leading us to believe that we would have a nice, colorful sunset. But, in it’s usual way, the weather on the Oregon Coast changes rapidly. Heading towards Bandon, we drove right into a fog bank, loosing all our sun. Upon reaching our destination, we had swirling fog and sun. With the light dropping quickly, and the moodiness of the afternoon, I kicked into B&W mode to photograph this starfish clinging to a rock

DLWS Oregon Coast is about to begin and the gang is all here…anticipating a great event. We went out scouting today and had, you guessed it, Oregon trademark gray skies; perfect lighting for the Charleston Boat Basin. When blue skies are gray, I think B&W. In this case B&W infrared.
