Our last night of DLWS brought us back to Cisco and who did we run into…none other than Thelma & Louise themselves, cruising the ghost town in search of trouble. The sky was dramatic, the light to die for.

I was drawn, once again, to the house with the green door. This time I am standing at the door shooting into the interior of the house. I love the way the light comes through the window and bounces off the interior walls.
What a great week it has been. Fun folks, a beautiful location…what more could one ask for! Check out Moose, Joe, Kevin and Josh’s blogs to see more of DLWS Moab.

This mornings shoot took us to Dead Horse Point. As the sun crested the horizon, the valley was bathed in a gorgeous warm glow. It just felt like a pano morning.

A trip to Canyonlands is not complete without a visit to Mesa Arch. We photographed first light as the sun crested the horizon and washed Mesa Arch in a warm glow.

DLWS Moab kicked off a great week of shooting at North window. Joe was so overcome by the moment that he raised his arms to the photo gods in thanks for the sheer joy of being a photographer. I set the aperture to F22 to create the star burst effect.

The sun lit the under side of North Window. I underexposed the image to increase the shadows and add drama. The lone photographer is side lit against the shadows.

We headed back to Cisco for our evening shoot. We were so excited to share this weathered little treasure of a ghost town with the group. One of the participants, found this great oil can with a drop of oil about to drip off the end of the can and we worked it for awhile using the weathered tin garage wall for our backdrop.

The last rays of sun lit the window of this old building. I knew that I wanted to contrast the warmth of the window by turning the monochromatic building to B&W.

In search of something a little bit unique for DLWS Moab, Moose & Josh did a Ghost Town search on the internet and found “Cisco”. Not knowing what to expect, we headed off this morning to find ourselves stepping back in time and having a ball wandering around the past. When we first arrived, the moon was setting.

While the rest of the gang wandered around the “Boneyard of the Past”, I spotted this wonderful old building. I worked this view for a bit and wandered around to see what other treats it would reveal.

I was not disappointed when I found this rusty old can oozing tar, frozen in time.

Still intrigued, I rounded the corner of the house and found paydirt! This weathered old door seemed to say “come in and let me share my past with you. I had to go get the rest of the gang and share my find with them. I love the variety of unique compositions we each saw.
