Worldwide Photo Walk This Saturday

That’s right, it’s already time for the first ever worldwide Photo Walk sponsored by our frineds at NAPP to celbrate the release of Scott Kelby’s new book “Lightroom For Digital Photographers”.  Interest has been very high…and how!  The Portland Photo Walk filled in the first 48 hours of being announced.  There are over 230 cities worldwide with 7297 participants worldwide.  I’m very excited to be leading such an enthusiastic group through some of Portland’s great landmarks…beginning with a view of the city from the Eastside Esplanade.

We’ll the cross the Hawthorne bridge and head into the heart of the city where we will see some classic Portland landmarks like city hall.

Our own Portlandia…

Soaring buildings…

Local charachters…

To abstract reflections everywhere you turn.

The possibilities are endless and I can’t wait to see the creativity come to life in fifty photographers images as we find treasures in the nooks and crannies of our own city.

Disembarking In Honolulu

I awoke to the sounds of our ship coming into port in Honolulu.  The early morning light was bouncing off the buildings creating reflectoions that glowed.

With a free day before flying home we headed straight to Pearl Harbor.  It was a very sobering experience to hear the stories of the tragedies on that fateful date of Dec 7, 1941.

A moment of silence at the memorial wall.

We ended our tour of Pearl Harbor with a visit to the Missouri.

Cruising The Na Pali Coast

As we departed Kauai we headed up the Na Pali Coast.  It was an amazing sight to behold as the earth thrust from the sea to sear thousands of feet into the air, jagged fins lit with late afternoon light.

After making one pass the captain turned the ship around and cruised right back down the coast, treating us to a Na Pali Coast sunset..

And for the finale, a rainbow showered our pixels with a Hawaiian rainbow.

Classic Kauai

We took the group on an excursion around the Island.  Our first stop was Opaeka Falls then we moved on to Waiamea Canyon…

After a couple of hours of enjoying the splendor of the Grand Canyon of the Pacific we headed to Spouting Horn for the sunset.

A great time was had by all!

A short Stop In Kona

Sitting on the balcony enjoying myself before heading into Kona I happened to look over the side at the water and the texture and color of the water caught my eye.

Stopping to dip our toes in the water, I liked the view of our ship from shore.
