What better grand finale to a great week than an evening spent with the grand dame herself…the Golden Gate Bridge! For our last shoot of DLWS San Francisco we headed to the Marin Headlands, a spectacular overlook of the Golden Gate Bridge with San Francisco in the background. Everyone set up with visions in mind of the images they wanted to make and now equipped with the technical skills to achieve that vision. I set up my camera on a tripod with time-lapse to capture the light as the sun dropped lower in the sky bathing the scene in a soft, warm glow…

to the first lights on the bridge…

and the final click long after the light of day had disappeared and the lights of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco in the distance were all that illuminated the scene…

With the first DLWS of 2010 under my belt, I turn my attention towards my upcoming safari in Yellowstone. Ah, it’s good to be a photographer!
Images captured with Nikon D3S, AF-S 24-70mm on Lexar Digital Media.
