While there are many subjects to choose from, it’s fun to spend time with one subject and really work it. We were fortunate today to have a very cooperative bear that allowed us to do just that.
We spent four hours photographing this big boar as he scratched on a log…

Then he wandered down to the water’s edge and gazed out into the bay for a bit…

When we saw that he was headed to the sedge meadow, we took a different route and were ready when he walked by…

In between mouths full of grass he paused, sat up and gave us this pose…

I love this classic vertical pose with the bear coming straight at the camera…

It’s midnight and just now beginning to get dark. I’m going to call it a wrap and head to bed where I’ll dream of new photographs to be made tomorrow.
