I am in Illinois photographing an equestrian event called Ironhorse CDE (Combined Driving Event). I know, this is not my usual type of “wildlife” photography but, when my friend JoAnn invited me to come out and photograph the event at their farm, I jumped on the opportunity to push myself and try something out of my normal comfort zone. What an amazing event! Not only was this an amazing experience, it was the qualifying event for the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky so the best of the best are in attendance vying for a a spot. With over ten thousand images to edit, I’m way behind but, I’ll share a few of my favorites at this point…

JoAnn’s team who is currently in first place

The navigator is an essential part of the team. They keep the carriage upright in tight turns and call out directions to the driver
